How we review

Plenty of travel sites rank tours by commission rate and call it a recommendation. This page exists so you can check whether we do the same, including the parts that are inconvenient for us.

What we rank on

Value for money, not price. A 140-euro tasting with eight people and a producer who actually turns up beats a 59-euro coach trip to a commercial cellar, and we will say so. What we weigh, in order: group size, whether you get access a walk-in visitor could not get, who is really guiding, driving time against time on site, and what the price covers before the extras.

How prices are verified

Every price here is checked against the operator or property website before publication, and again each season. We do not copy prices from other blogs, which is how a tour that changed in 2023 is still quoted at the old price across half the internet. Where a price moves through the year, the page says when it was last checked.

What we have not done

We have not taken every tour on this site. Nobody has. When a recommendation comes from operator documentation, published reviews and comparison rather than from having been on that departure, the page says so. Treat we went and we checked as different claims, because they are, and a guide that blurs them is telling you something about itself.

Conflicts of interest

This site earns a commission when you book through our links, and that is disclosed at the top of every page carrying them. Operators cannot pay for placement, cannot pay to rank higher, and cannot pay to have criticism taken down. We have not accepted press trips, comped tours or hosted stays. If that ever changes it will be disclosed on the page in question, not buried on this one.

Corrections

If something is wrong, we want to know, and it gets fixed. Material corrections are noted on the page itself. Write to hola@thetuscanyguide.com.
